Maybe that is not enough, because there are also other places where "java/lang/System" processing differs from executing any other Java class. 2. Thanks for the advice! Thanks for your comments. –phaedrus Mar 9 '10 at 17:24 And what happened when you tried to write to the other process after it had closed its input? But this is something that should not happen: The exec'd process should not stop reading in the middle. The service will log the serialization problem in the tracelog when you have it turned on for the service. If java.lang.System.exit() resulted in a call to ExitProcess (I do not actually know.

Must be running as a service // Shutdown hook will take care of clean-up System.exit(0); I see that prunsrv has special support for calling System.exit as the stop method. It reduces memory usage to 250MB for a 41MB input XML file (relatively simple XSD but with approx 200,000 repeating nodes)!

The line number shows that the stack is while writing to the exe. The tricks presented in this article not only work for named pipes, but can also help ease the pain when debugging serialization failures in combination with other bindings in WCF. These errors can be quite hard to debug as the error message itself is not very descriptive.
However I'm not previliged to sharing the details - firstly I didn't write it, and secondly it's the company's IP.
Take a tour to get the most out of Samebug. Having said that, this occurred in production so it's possible that there are other processes consuming memory thus affected this one. At this stage we are not sure where this error came from - from DI or SQL or NT? will try them out soon. Think we will need to make that as default (at least on Tomcat) Hide Permalink Mladen Turk added a comment - 05/Nov/11 18:46 Seems the fix was really trivial. The scenario A leaky pipe can usually be found in cases where there’s an error on the serverside of the setup.

Is it ethical to use proprietary (closed-source) software for scientific computation? I found there was other posts on this forum mentioning this intermittent error on DI.
The DI job takes a big xml file from shared network folder then process the data, put it in tables, and then reads from tables and spits smaller xml files into
